Tarangire National Park

Baobabs that look painted onto the skyline, and elephants gathering in numbers you have to see to believe.

About Tarangire National Park

Tarangire is our quiet favourite. Ancient baobabs stand across the hills like something painted, and in the dry months the river pulls in elephant herds that can be hundreds strong.

It is usually the first park on a northern circuit and a lovely gentle introduction — fewer vehicles, wonderful birdlife, and elephants close enough that you hear them breathing.
